AUDIO: Olympic Volleyball Qualifying in St. Pete

The FIVB St. Pete Grand Slam presented by the AVP is an Olympic qualifying event that is part of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour. It will feature 32 men’s and 32 women’s teams competing in two days of pool play followed by two days of single-elimination play, with gold, silver and bronze medalists honored on the final day of play. Prior to the main draw, there will be one day of country quota matches and a one-day qualifying tournament with eight men’s and eight women’s main-draw spots on the line.

The tournament is hosted by the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour and is the first of three FIVB World Tour events in the United States this season. It marks the first World Tour event ever held in St. Petersburg, Florida.
