BLUE JAYS ROSTER MOVE: THAMES RECALLED FROM LAS VEGAS

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have optioned infielder MIKE McCOY to Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League (AAA) and have recalled OF ERIC THAMES from Las Vegas.
THAMES, 24, appeared in 13 games for Toronto earlier this season and hit .286 (12-42) with two doubles, a triple and four RBI. In 53 games with Las Vegas this season he is batting .352 with 25 doubles, four triples, seven home runs and 45 runs batted in. In June, the 6-1, 205 lb. left-handed hitter is batting .375 for Las Vegas with eight doubles, two triples, one home run and 15 RBI in 17 games.
McCOY, 30, has split the 2011 season between Las Vegas and Toronto where he has appeared in 35 games and batted .217 (15-69) with three doubles, a home run and four RBI. The 5-9, 181 lb. right-handed hitter will return to Las Vegas where he has hit .311 this season in 20 games with three doubles, nine RBI and posted a .457 on-base percentage.
