BLUE JAYS ROSTER MOVES 8-16-11

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have placed RHP JON RAUCH on the 15-day disabled list with appendicitis, designated LHP TREVER MILLER for assignment and have selected the contracts of LHP WIL LEDEZMA & LHP ROMMIE LEWIS from Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League (AAA).            

RAUCH, 32, has appeared in a team high 51 games this season, posting a 5-4 record with 11 saves and a 4.47 ERA. The Louisville, Kentucky had an appendectomy performed in Seattle this morning.  

MILLER, 38, has made six relief appearances with Toronto after being acquired in an multi player trade with the St. Louis Cardinals on July 27. In those six games, the Louisville, Kentucky native posted an ERA of 4.91 (2ER/3.2 IP).              

LEDEZMA, 30, is making his 2nd stint with Toronto this season. The 6’4”, 225 pound, left-hander has appeared in two games with Toronto, posting an ERA of 9.00 (3ER/3.0 IP). The Guarico, Venezuelan native has appeared in 36 games with the Las Vegas 51s (AAA) this season, posting a record of 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA including four saves.            

LEWIS, 28, has appeared in 42 games with the Las Vegas 51s (AAA) this season and owns record of 3-3 including four saves with an ERA of 6.60. The Seattle, Washington native made 14 relief appearances with Toronto last season, posting a record of 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA while striking out 15 batters in 18.2 innings of work
