Blue Jays are Revere at Deadline

The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired outfielder Ben Revere and cash considerations from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for righties Alberto Tirado and Jimmy Cordero.

 

Ben Revere is currently batting .296 with 20 extra base hits and 24 stolen bases in 96 games this season. The Atlanta, Georgia native was originally selected with the 28th overall pick by Minnesota in 2007 and has spent three seasons each with the Twins and Phillies. A left-handed hitter, Revere has a career .292 average and 169 stolen bases in 589 contests.

 

Alberto Tirado is 4-3 with a 3.23 ERA in 31 relief outings for Dunedin (A) in his 4th professional season. Jimmy Cordero also in his 4th professional season, is a combined 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA at Dunedin (A) and New Hampshire (AA) in 32 relief appearances.
