CANO BREAKING GROUND
By Damon LatinBox Gonzalez on March 1, 2013
Tampa, Fla.– New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano not worried at all as he is approaching the free agency market. Yankees Managing General Partner Hal Steinbrenner and Senior Vice President, General Manager Brian Cashman are very positive and interested in inking a contract for Cano before he hits the free agent market.
Today Cano was tossing the ball around during batting practice with Yankee Captain Derek Jeter. Cano also took on other events at the ballpark today filming MLB Commercials for 2013 Opening Day, The All-Star Game and Post-season. Robinson Cano was very relaxed and excited to take part as takes were done in English and Spanish.
As far as the game the Yankees fell to Baltimore today 10-7 at George Steinbrenner Field. TheYankees are not in a state of panic, with a 9th inning rally showed Manager Joe Girardi different looks at younger non- roster players. With different directions to fit certain pieces especially with the injuries of Curtis Granderson (out for 10 weeks) and Alex Rodriguez (placed on the 60-day disabled list), the Yankees 40 man roster stands at 40 players.
