Hockey is Called Different in the US than Canada

This photo shows a USA Hockey referee calling a U 10 game on the north rink at the Tampa Bay Skating Academy in Oldsmar, Fl. while play is in progress. A Canadian who witnessed the incident had this to say. “Parents pay a lot of money for their kids to play in these leagues and this is they way the ref’s treat the game.” This same official also started a period while one of the goalies was still putting on his helmet and face guard. The officials at this rink along with Clearwater Ice Arena and the four rinks in Wesley Chapel, Florida are all members of the CFIHOL Referees Association.
