Jays Ink Extension for Gibbons

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed manager John Gibbons to a contract extension through the 2019 season with a club option for 2020.

 Gibbons is commencing his 5th season of a second term with the club and 9th overall. His 644 wins as manager rank 2nd on the all-time Blue Jays list behind Cito Gaston (913). The San Antonio, Texas resident began his coaching career in 1991 with the Mets, joining the Blue Jays organization in 2002 before becoming manager in 2004.
