Kickin’ Off With Coach Taggart and the Bulls

By on June 14, 2016

USF Football and their “Kickoff with Coach Taggart” event made its way to Canopy Restaurant on Beach Drive in Saint Petersburg. The room was filled with positive feelings of hope and anticipation for the upcoming USF Bulls Season.

Coach Taggart laid out his plan and addressed the crowd stressing the need for more fans in the stands. It is understandable for this to be discussed as the attendance has been poor for a few years now.

USF made huge strides last year and they are hoping the phrase “If You Win They Will Come” happens in the confines of Raymond James Stadium.

Justin Pawlowski emceed the event and did a fine job especially during the question and answer session with the guests and the media.

Coach Taggart got a big pop from the crowd when one of the media asked if there was going to be an open competition at quarterback. His response after a brief pause was “have you seen Quentin Flowers play?” Have you seen the other quarterbacks?

The Bulls will have some depth this year at the qb position as Asiantti Woolard and Adam Robles both had good springs and got rave reviews but Flowers makes this offense tick. With Flowers, Marlen Mack and Rodney Adams, the USF offense has a “tri-bull” attack.

Other questions ranged from what he tells the moms during the recruiting process to the coaching changes in the off season. The importance of signature wins was also brought up and the fact that FSU comes to Raymond James this season and the Bulls want revenge from last year’s loss in Tallahassee.

Coach Taggart also discussed the storming of the field that occurred last season and that if it happens this year, he hopes that it’s when they win the conference championship. After the session was over, Coach Taggart took pictures with the fans and afterwards everyone went up on the open rooftop to enjoy the rest of the evening.

The event was a success for USF and the people who attended. Some attendees became season ticket holders with the intent of recruiting even more of them. With the inexpensive ticket plans, last year’s success and the talent on this club, The Bulls are an easy sell.

The Bulls and Coach Taggart have a plan. The question they have for you is, “Will you be there to witness the stampede?”
