2016_AAA_logoAs Major League Baseballs’ current stars showcase their talent in the 87th All-Star game in San Diego, the next wave of stars will get to showcase their talent in the 29th annual Triple-A All Star game being held in Charlotte on July 13. This All-Star game could very well feature several players that will soon be seen on Major League rosters.

One of those players who could see the big leagues soon is Austin Pruitt. Pruitt along with Dylan Floro were originally selected to represent the Durham Bulls, the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. Now Pruitt will be the sole Bull representative in the All-Star game, as Floros’ contract was purchased by the Tampa Bay Rays on July 6.

In his first year at Triple-A, Pruitt is 6-5 with a 3.13 ERA. He is tied for the International League lead in starts and complete games (2). He has walked 13 while striking 84 batters in 92 innings pitched. His 92 innings pitched rank second in the International League.

Floro, was in his first year as a reliever for the Bulls. The former starting pitcher and 2013 Tampa Bay Rays minor league pitcher of the year, was 1-2 with a 3.07 ERA in 27 relief appearances. He had also recorded six saves in eight chances. Floro made his Major League debut on July 7 against the Los Angeles Angels.

The Triple-A All Star game can be seen live on the MLB network at 7 pm on July 13.
