Scary Moment for Jagielo
By Eddie Michels on September 27, 2014TAMPA, FLA.–A 87-MPH fastball from Blue Jays LHP Grayson Huffman felled Yankees infielder Eric Jagielo on the right side of his head during an Instructional League game between the Blue Jays and Yankees at Steinbrenner Field on Saturday September 27, 2014.
Jaqielo did lay motionless on his back for about 10-minutes as Yankee trainer Alfonso Malaguti kept his neck movements to a minimum.
Malaguti was assisted by Blue Jays trainer Jon Woodworth (L) who kept the patient in shade and Yankees Field Coordinator Jody Reed who gave his young injured prospect encouragement.
After being examined by members of the Tampa Fire and Rescue Jagielo rose and made it under his own power to a waiting cart that transported him off the field to be taken to a local medical facility.
