Toronto prospect Justin Atkinson takes BP on Wednesday at the team’s Mattick Complex. Atkinson is also getting ready to play for Team Canada in the 12T tournament in Taipei, Taiwan According to Team Canada manager Ernie Whitt, Atkinson will be the team’s number three catcher and be the back up at the corners, first and third.
He may not have been called up from Triple-A Buffalo to Toronto this past September 1 but infielder, outfielder and any other place needed Jonathan Diaz (above photo) will be ready. Diaz is presently working out at the team’s Mattick Complex that according to him is, “Just in case.”

Blue Jays RHP Marcus Stroman threw off a mound for the first time on Tuesday since tearing his left ACL during PFP drills in spring training. Stroman also went through all the drills of the other rehab pitchers at the Mattick Complex including a couple of long tosses from close to 200-feet.
