Tampa Bay Rays on the Move

TAMPA, FLA.–The Tampa Bay Rays because of the hurricane damage to their Tropicana Field ballpark in St. Petersburg will be playing their regular season home games during the 2025 season at the NY Yankees spring training home George M. Steinbrenner Field.  With a seating capacity of just over 14,000 it will just be slightly less than what the Rays average attendance in 2024.  Steinbrenner Field does have a few positives that the “Trop” doesn’t have.  Also, there is the Hall of Fame Park right in front of the stadium which has memorials to all the NY Yankee Hall of Famer’s. The Tampa stadium also ftshas two full size playing fields adjacent to it along with the Buccaneers stadium parking lot right across the street which the Yankees use during their spring training games.  But here is a possible negative to all this and that is will there be any scheduling errors where both teams will be playing home games on the same dates and time.  Just something that you might want to look into.
