BLUE JAYS COMPLETE TRADE WITH WHITE SOX
ACQUIRE RHP EDWIN JACKSON and IF MARK TEAHEN
The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have acquired RHP EDWIN JACKSON and IF MARK TEAHEN from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for RHP JASON FRASOR and RHP ZACH STEWART.
JACKSON, 27, is 7-7 this season for the White Sox with a 3.92 ERA in 19 starts. The 6-3, 205 lb. right-hander has a career record of 55-58 in nine seasons with a 4.53 ERA while pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers (2003-2005), Tampa Bay (2006-2008), Detroit (2009), Arizona (2010) and the Chicago White Sox (2010-2001).
TEAHEN, 29, is batting .209 this season with three doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI in 50 games for the White Sox. The 6-3, 230 lb. infielder has posted a .283 on-base percentage. Teahen, who became a Canadian citizen, has a career average of .266 with 66 home runs and 329 RBI over seven seasons with Kansas City (2005-2009) and Chicago (2010-2011).
FRASOR, 33, has appeared in 44 games for the Blue Jays this season posting a 2-1 record with an ERA of 2.98. The 5-9, 180lb. right-hander owns a career record of 24-28 with 36 saves and an ERA of 3.69 in 455 games with the Blue Jays. He leaves the organization as the franchise leader in games pitched.
STEWART, 24, has made three starts for Toronto this summer posting an 0-1 record with an ERA of 4.86. The 6-2, 205 lb. right-handed pitcher has spent most of the season with New Hampshire of the Eastern League (AA) where he has posted a 5-5 record with an ERA of 4.20 in 16 starts.

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have signed 2nd round pick (78th overall), RHP JEREMY GABRYSZWSKI, 11th round pick SS ANDY BURNS, 21st round pick SS PETER MOONEY and 26th round pick from Surrey, BC SS JUSTIN ATKINSON from the 2011 June draft.

BLUE JAYS COMPLETE TRADE WITH CARDINALS
ACQUIRE OUTFIELDER COLBY RASMUS
The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have acquired OF COLBY RASMUS, LHP BRIAN TALLET, LHP TREVER MILLER and RHP P.J. WALTERS from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for RHP EDWIN JACKSON, RHP OCTAVIO DOTEL, LHP MARC RZEPCZYNSKI, OF COREY PATTERSON and three players to be named later or cash considerations.
RASMUS, 24, is batting .246 for the Cardinals this season with 14 doubles, six triples, 11 home runs and 40 RBI. The 6-2, 200 lb. left handed hitter has posted a .332 on-base percentage and has five stolen bases. In his three major league seasons, the 2005 first round selection (28th overall) has posted a .259 average with 64 doubles, 11 triples, 50 home runs and 158 RBI in 385 games.
MILLER, 38, is 0-1 this season with one save in 39 games with an ERA of 4.02. The 6-3, 200 lb. left-hander returns to Toronto where he spent the 2003 season posting a 2-2 record with three saves and a 4.61 ERA in a league high 79 games. In his 13 year career, the Louisville, Kentucky native has a career record of 18-17 with 11 saves and a 4.19 ERA in 685 games for Detroit (1996), Houston (1998-1999 & 2006-2007) Philadelphia (2000), Los Angeles Dodgers (2000), Toronto (2003), Tampa Bay (2004-2005, 2008) and St. Louis (2009-2011).
TALLET, 33, is 0-1 this season for the Cardinals in 18 games with an ERA of 8.31. The 6-6, 220 lb. left-handed pitcher has been disabled twice this season with a broken left hand and then a right intercostal strain (rib cage). He returns to Toronto where he pitched five seasons (2006-2010) and compiled a 15-21 record with a 4.71 ERA in 214 games with 31 starts. The Midwest City, Oklahoma native owns a career record of 16-24 with a 4.76 ERA in 241 games including 36 starts.
WALTERS, 26, has made only four relief appearances for the Cardinals this season with a 9.00 ERA. In 17 starts for the Memphis Redbirds (AAA) this season the 6-4, 200lb. right-handed pitcher compiled a record of 7-4 with a 4.27 ERA and one complete game. In parts of three seasons with St. Louis, the Dothan, Alabama native is 2-0 in 19 games, with four starts and a 7.38 ERA.
