BLUE JAYS SIGN RASMUS

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have signed CF COLBY RASMUS to a one year contract worth US $2.7 million dollars for the 2012 season.
RASMUS, 25, was acquired by the Blue Jays on July 27, 2011 from the St. Louis Cardinals. In 129 games last season, the Columbus, Georgia native posted a .225 average with 14 home runs and 53 RBI between both the Cardinals and Blue Jays. The former first round pick (28th overall) by St. Louis in 2005 has recorded a .251 career average with 53 home runs and 171 RBI in 420 games, making his debut in 2009.
The Blue Jays have five arbitration eligible players remaining (Ben Francisco, Casey Janssen, Brandon Morrow, Kelly Johnson and Carlos Villanueva).
