BLUE JAYS SIGN VLADIMIR GUERRERO JR.

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed international free agent Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and have traded minor league right handed pitchers’ Chase DeJong and Tim Locastro to the Los Angeles Dodgers for three international signing slots; 27, 57 and 117.

Only 16 years old, Guerrero is the son of Vladimir Guerrero who played 16 seasons in the Major Leagues for the Montreal Expos, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles and combined to hit .318 with 449 career home runs with 1,496 RBI along with the 2004 American League MVP award.   Guerrero Jr., who was born in Montreal and is a Canadian citizen, is a right-handed hitting outfielder who is 6’0” tall, weighs 220lbs. and throws right.
