Bichette stays hot in Gulf Coast League

The Blue Jays second round pick in this June’s Draft Bo Bichette (below) continues his hot hitting going 3-4 against the Yankees GCL West squad on Monday. Bichette had three RBI and raised his average to .538 over three games.

Bouchey hurls two shutout Innings

Canadian Brayden Bouchey of White Rock, BC tossed two shutout innings in a Gulf Coast League pre season game on Tuesday against the Phillies.  Drafted in the 33 rd round by the Blue Jays Bouchey walked one and struck out one throwing 29-pitches. (EDDIE MICHELS PHOTO)      

Colabello Singles, Doubles, Homers

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder/first baseman Chris Colabello missed hitting for the cycle by a triple on Monday during a Gulf Coast League preseason game.  Colabello on a questionable 80-game suspension for performance enhancing drugs only batted three time during the game.

Cecil throws 24

Lefty Brett Cecil (left lat) threw 24-pitches in a shortened inning on Saturday against recent Jays draft picks.  With a 90-91 MPH fastball and a 82-83 MPH breaking ball Cecil said afterwards, “I feel good.”  It’s not known when Cecil will pitch next. (EDDIE MICHELS PHOTO)
