Eddie Michels Photo Update

Casey Janssen (EDDIE MICHELS/PHOTO)

DUNEDIN, FLA.–Toronto Blue Jays closer Casey Janssen (right shoulder) faced live hitters for the first time in over three weeks on Tuesday.
“All in all it was good to get on the mound, get a little bit of adrenalin going and most importantly it’s good to feel good,” said Janssen after his 25-pitch outing.
As to when he will pitch again Janssen said, “I think I have got two days off then I should be in a game.”
Janssen used all his pitches but one he stated.  “I didn’t use my cutter and it comes back quick, it gives me time to work on the other stuff.  Fastball curve ball, slider and change up, threw more than a couple of each, another step in the right direction.  Got the heart pumping a bit which is nice, I sure glad it’s going to be more of the same hopefully more in the velocity department just because there will be defenders behind me and stuff like that, then go from there.”
“As long as I don’t come in tomorrow and have the unknown happen I am in Tuesday and throwing Friday,” said Janssen of the plan.

Toronto native Marcus Knecht faced Blue Jays closer Casey Janssen Tuesday morning and liked what he saw. “He looked good going in and out,” said Knecht who was brought over from the minor league camp to face Janssen. As to why he was brought over Knecht said, “They needed a right hand bat.” (EDDIE MICHELS/PHOTO)

Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker (center) gives RHP Aaron Sanchez a pat of encouragement as he is in a bases loaded no out situation in the top of the sixth. Joined by catcher Dioner Navarro (right) Sanchez went onto inducing a 1-2-3 double play and a 1-3 putout at first to get out of the inning without allowing a run. (EDDIE MICHELS/PHOTO)

Aaron Sanchez gets work Sunday and pitched a solid 4 innings giving up 5 hits with a walk and 3 k’s.  Sanchez was picked in the first round of the 2010 MLB amateur draft. He was 4-5 with a 3.34 ERA last year with Dunedin. (EDDIE MICHELS/PHOTO)

Munenori Kawasaki, who entered the game originally as a pinch runner, gets a plate appearance in the bottom of the 10th and makes the most of it. Kawasaki singles to right in the bottom of the ninth scoring Dan Johnson to tie the game with the Orioles at two sending it into extra innings. (EDDIE MICHELS/PHOTO)

Jonathan Diaz scores the winner in the bottom of the 10th after Josh Thole grounded out to second. The throw home was not in time. (EDDIE MICHELS/PHOTO)

Orioles catcher Johnny Monell looks to make the tag in the bottom of the 10th on the Blue Jays Jonathan Diaz who is already celebrating with his teammates after scoring the winning run from second on an infield out. (EDDIE MICHELS/PHOTO)
