Hall of Fame Surprise
By Eddie Michels on June 27, 2017LAKELAND, FLA.—The Tigers 30th round pick in this Junes draft Kyle Thomas got a bit of a surprise while sitting on the bench prior to his first professional game against of all teams the GCL Blue Jays.
While Thomas and I were having a chat who walks up to say hello but Canadian Baseball Hall of Famer Murray Cook.
After greetings and introductions were exchanged Thomas said to Cook, “That’s where I want to be someday,” referring to St. Mary’s Ontario.
Thomas, who is from Barrie, Ontario, was drafted by the Tigers out of the University of North West Ohio.
