LAKELAND, Fla.–Dave Allridge of Grimsby, Ont. checks out the lineups prior to Wednesday August 8, 2012 GCL game between the Blue Jays and the Tigers.  In the Blue Jays lineup were three fellow Canadian players who didn’t fare to well with a fellow countryman arbitrating the eventual 1-0 Blue Jays loss.

Leading off for the Jays was DJ Davis,  a number draft pick and non- Canadian, who went 0-4 striking out four times, three looking.  Justin Atkinson hit third going 1-4 with a strikeout but reached on a wild pitch while Shaun Valeriote hitting fifth went 0-4 with two strike outs.  Nate DeSousa rounded out the group hitting ninth going 0-3 but not striking out.  DeSousa did however ground into a double play to end the fifth inning.  The four Canadian hitters went a dismal 1-15 (.067) against the Tigers hurlers with the fellow countryman making the calls behind the dish.  The breakdown including the double play was seven strikeouts, four looking, one ground out, five fly outs and one foul out.
