DUNEDIN, Fl. (RSEN) Phillies prospect Jeremy Barnes got the thrill of a lifetime when he hit a two run homer off Toronto Blue Jays starter Brett Cecil during a minor league spring training game. An 11th round pick in the 2009 June Draft Barnes also added a single against Cecil making for a perfect 2-2 at the plate. “I was just looking for something to hit out over the plate,” said Barnes, “It’s definitely up there on my highlight list. It has definitely been a good day.” Blue Jays catcher Brian Jeroloman said of the pitch Barns hit, “It was a sinker in off the plate. He (Cecil) was throwing all his pitches with confidence today, I wouldn’t want to have faced him.” 2010 first round pick Jesse Biddle tossed two scoreless innings with a 90 MPH fastball on an adjacent field in Dunedin. Monday was the first day for minor league spring training games.
