Pirates Cole Brings Heat

DUNEDIN, Fla.–Pitching in just his second Instructional League game RHP Garrett Cole threw his fastball a consistent 95-100 MPH over four innings Monday against the Blue Jays squad.
     Cole, who was the first overall pick in this year’s June draft out of UCLA signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates for an $8-million contract just prior to the August 15 deadline.
     Over Monday’s four innings on the mound at the Mattick Complex Cole allowed one run on four hits while walking one and striking out six.
