Sanchez goes 2 2/3

DUNEDIN, FLA.–Toronto Blue Jays RHP Aaron Sanchez (right lat) threw 2 2/3 innings in his second rehab start on Saturday.

     Sanchez allowed one run on three hits while walking two and striking out two on 47-pitches.  His fastball topped out at 97 MPH.

     “For the most part mechanic wise comfort wise I felt good,” said Sanchez, “I didn’t have any issues out there so obviously it’s a step in the right direction.  I wish the weather was a little better and I had a better feel out there for what I was trying to do with the baseball.  I kind of lost the grip a couple of times but all in all it was a good day for me.”

     The temperature was 84 degrees but there was a high degree of humidity.

     As to where he is pitching next Sanchez was ask if it was either Double-A New Hampshire or Triple-A Buffalo who are both at home on Thursday the 16th putting him on a five day rotation.

     “I have no idea where, the plan is to get out of here but it’s definitely one of those two spots.”
