Taking One for the Team: Ker-Plunk!

Dunedin, Fla. — The Toronto Blue Jays beat the NY Yankees yesterday 10-6 in action in Dunedin but the big news was the exit of Edwin Ecarnacion.

The Jays pounded out 14 hits paced by 2 hits a piece from Jose Bautista, Brett Lawrie and Adam Lind.  The 5th was the biggest inning of all with the Jays plating 8 runs and chasing Yankees reliever Preston Claiborne whom failed to get an out and was the eventual loser.   In that inning the most crucial part was when Preston Claiborne came inside on Edwin Encarnacion and hit him in the wrist/forearm area.   Encarnacion batting right so the left wrist  in front, was missed by the ball and actually struck Encarnacionin in the right wrist/forearm.  Encarnacion would have to leave the game.
