TAMPA BAY SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT NAMES LORISSE GARCIA SENIOR VICE-PRESIDENT OF PEOPLE OPERATIONS

TAMPA BAY – Tampa Bay Sports and Entertainment, LLC, an entity controlled by Jeff Vinik, has named Lorisse Garcia to the newly created position of Senior Vice President of People Operations, Chief Executive Officer Steve Griggs announced today. Garcia, who brings more than 35 years of human resources experience to TBSE and the Tampa Bay Lightning, will begin with the organization on Monday, July 9. Garcia had previously been working as a consultant, assisting corporate (including the Lightning and TBSE) and individual clients in a variety of areas.
“We are pleased that Lorisse has opted to join the organization on a full-time basis,” said Griggs in making the announcement. “In her time consulting for Tampa Bay Sports and Entertainment and the Lightning, she has helped us concentrate on talent recruiting, employee coaching and development. As the leader of this reimagined department, we look for her to drive the employee experience to new heights, helping every individual achieve his or her potential while enjoying the daily workplace.”
Her appointment coincides with the company’s rebrand of the human resources department to “People Operations,” further reinforcing the importance of its number one asset, its people. Under Garcia the People Operations department will develop an employee experience and environment at both AMALIE Arena and the Yuengling Center that will emulate the world class guest experience for which the company has become so well known.

Before working as a consultant, Garcia spent 16 years in the financial sector and 20 years in sports and entertainment, 18 of those with the Orlando Magic. While with the Magic, the Rollins College graduate worked in a variety of executive and leadership roles in the areas of talent development, leadership development, and executive recruiting, also serving nine seasons as vice president of human resources and administrative services.
Under Jeff Vinik’s ownership, Tampa Bay Sports and Entertainment and the Tampa Bay Lightning have been named one of Tampa Bay’s top workplaces by the Tampa Bay Times for the past four years.
