THANK YOU EDDIE MICHELS

By on November 11, 2017

On behalf of the whole Rocket Sports & Entertainment Network organization, I would like to extend a big THANK YOU to Eddie Michels and wish him along with all Veterans and Active Duty USA military a Happy Veterans Day.  THANK YOU for what You do so I can write and say what I want!

I met Eddie back in 2010 via my friend and hockey team-mate Anthony Styer, also a Veteran.  From the first day I talked with Eddie on the phone he has been there for me.  Not only has Eddie contributed written and photo journalism content for Rocket Sports & Entertainment Network, he became a mentor since day one. Eddie always extended his hand out to me teaching me the trades of the business and stressing the importance of journalism ethics.  You know my saying, “honesty in journalism.”   But the most importantly Eddie is a great friend that truly cares and has cared about me and Rocket Sports & Entertainment.  Eddie sent over a couple of photos that I wanted to share along with this.

“Here are a couple of Veterans Day Photos for you and yes it’s me in the pix.  They were taken on May 15, 1969 in Long Bin, Vietnam.  I was a door gunner on a UH1-D with HHC AMMC.  10 days later I was back in the states and discharged after eight months in Korea and 19-months in Vietnam, a total of 32 months in the US Army.” EDDIE MICHELS
