Rain, Rain in Dunedin
By Eddie Michels on August 29, 2016The Lakeland Flying Tigers game against the Dunedin Blue Jays in Dunedin was called because of either rain on the horizian or wet grounds depending on who you believe. The photo taken around 4:10 PM prior to the scheduled 5 PM game shows the tarp less than half way across the infield leaving most of the field expossed to the heavy rain that hit the area. Finally around 6 PM the game was called after efforts were done to get the field playable. According to one disgruntled fan leaving the stadium after it was called, “The Florida operations staff should have had the field covered, they waited to long.” It was reveilded that the stadium personal waited to long to pull the tarp and it got to heavy when the rain started to fall.
