ADAM LIND NAMED HONDA PLAYER OF THE MONTH

TORONTO BLUE JAYS 1B ADAM LIND was voted as the HONDA PLAYER OF THE MONTH for June by the TORONTO CHAPTER of the BBWAA, capturing all but one first place vote.  Honda, the official vehicle of the Blue Jays, will make a donation to the charity of Adam Lind’s choosing.

        LIND, 27, batted .311 (28-90) in June with nine home runs and 22 RBI. The 6-1, 219lb. left-handed hitter, hit home runs in four consecutive contests from June 14-17, becoming just the 10^th player in Blue Jays history to do so. Lind, finished the month T-2^nd in the AL in home runs (9), 6^th in RBI (22), and 7^th in slugging (.644). Despite playing in only 55 games this season, his 16 home runs rank T-9^th in the AL

        Ricky Romero finished second in the voting garnering one first place vote, while Carlos Villanueva, Jose Bautista, Brandon Morrow and Frank Francisco all received consideration.
