JAYS TRADE FOR JASON FRASOR

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have acquired RHP JASON FRASOR from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for RHP DANIEL WEBB and RHP MYLES JAYE.             FRASOR, 34, split the 2011 season between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Chicago White Sox combining to post a 3-4 record with a 3.60 ERA in 64 relief appearances.  FRASOR was sent to the White Sox on July 27 last season along with RHP ZACH STEWART in exchange for RHP EDWIN JACKSON and IF MARK TEAHEN. The 5-9, 180lb. native of Chicago, Illinois spent eight seasons with the Blue Jays (2004-2011) posting a 24-28 record in 455 games with 36 saves and a 3.69 ERA.    JAYE, 20, appeared in 13 games last season making nine starts for the Bluefield Blue Jays of the Appalachian League (A).  The 6-3, 170lb. right-hander was 3-3 with one complete game, one save and a 3.00 ERA.  The Fayetteville, Georgia native was Toronto’s 17^th round selection in the 2010 First Year Player Draft.   WEBB, 22, split the 2011 season between Bluefield of the Appalachian League (A) and Lansing of the Midwest League (A) and posting a 4-5 record with a 5.48 ERA in 19 games, 12 starts. The 6-3, 210 lb. right handed pitcher was selected by Toronto in the 18^th round of the 2010 First Year Player Draft.             The Blue Jays 40-man roster, which was at 39 following the outright of RHP JIM HOEY to Las Vegas (AAA) on December 19, now returns to 40 with the addition of Frasor.
