Pinero goes Yard First Time

LAKELAND, Fla.–Toronto resident and Detroit Tigers ninth round pick in this June’s draft Daniel Pinero hit his first professional home run on Saturday against the Blue Jays Gulf Coast League squad.

     Playing for the Tigers West squad Pinero connected to left off RHP Brayden Bouchey on an 0-2 offering with two aboard.

     “It was exciting, it definitely was,” said Pinero afterwards who also played errorless ball at short during the game.
