Former Yankees and Tigers hurler Joba Chamberlain is getting a look see by the Toronto Blue Jays at their Mattick minor league complex. “He looks good,” said Toronto’s minor league pitching coordinator Rick Langford, “He’s straight down the middle and is locating all his pitches.” As to how long he will be at the Mattick Complex Langford said, “He’ll be here a few days and we’ll see how things go.” Chamberlain was released by the Tigers on July 10, 2015 after posting a 0-2 record in 2015 with a 4.09 era over 30-games.
Vladamir Guerrero Jr. took batting practice on Tuesday with the GCL Blue Jays squad. The 16-year old Guerrero Jr. isn’t going to be playing in any games until next season and it appears he will be brought along much like Roberto Osuna was. Osuna also signed as a 16-year old. Guerrero Jr. was in uniform during Tuesday’s GCL game.
