BLUE JAYS + BAUTISTA = ARBITRATION POSTPONED
By Eddie Michels on February 14, 2011DUNEDIN, Fla.–(RSE) Toronto Blue Jays spokesperson Jay Stenhouse issued the following statement this evening concerning the arbitration hearing that was supposed to have taken place today between the team and 3B/RF Jose Bautista. Baustia had requested $10.5-million while the team countered with $7.6-million for one-year.
In response to various media reports Toronto Blue Jays Sr. Vice President Baseball Operations and General Manager Alex Anthopoulos, has provided the following comment,
“Our arbitration hearing with Jose Bautista has been postponed to allow further negotiation between the player and the club. As it is the Blue Jays policy not to discuss contract negotiations, I will not be making any further comments regarding Jose Bautista until an agreement is reached or the conclusion of the arbitration process.”
