CASPER THE FRIENDLY OUTFIELDER – BLUE JAYS CLAIM WELLS

The Jays have claimed outfielder Casper Wells on waivers from the Seattle Mariners.
 On  March 31st Wells was designated for assignment by the Seattle Mariners.  In 2012, the 6-2, 210 lb. right-handed hitting outfielder batted .228 with 12 doubles, three triples and 10 home runs while driving in 36 runs in 93 games for the Mariners .  The Grand Rapids, Michigan native has a career Major League batting average of .246 with 25 home runs and 80 RBI in 224 contests over three seasons (Detroit, 2010-2011 and Seattle, 2011-2012).
Pitcher Alex Burnett is being designated to make room Wells.
