Cito the Legend

DUNEDIN, FLA.–At TD Ballpark in Dunedin the 2023 Governors Baseball Dinner was held on Thursday night during which former Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston was honored as a Legend of the Game.  Also honored were the 2022 World Series Champion Houston Astros by the Florida Sports Foundation.  During his speech Gaston refereed to HOF Hank Aaron his roommate, teammate and friend as “The one who made me the man I am.”  Gaston is the first African American to manager a major league team to win a world series which he did in 1992 and 1993 with the Toronto Blue Jays.
