Delabar gets Rehab Start in Tampa
By Eddie Michels on August 28, 2013TAMPA, FLA.–Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Steve Delabar made his first rehab start today since being placed on the 15-day DL August 4, 2013 for right shoulder inflammation. Throwing six of his eleven pitches for strikes with a consistent 93-94 MPH fastball Delabar threw a perfect inning against the rookie level Yankees of the GCL. “It feels pretty good,” said Delabar of his shoulder, “Now I am going to throw again on Friday for (Class-A) Dunedin.” As to his next step after Dunedin Delabar said, “I have no idea, they just tell me my next step and that is the next step they have for me. I do expect to be back in Toronto sometime this year.” Prior to his injury Delabar was 5-2 with a 2.90 ERA this season including an All Star game appearance via the “Final Vote.” (EDDIE MICHELS PHOTO)
