First Rehab Start for Doc
By Eddie Michels on July 12, 2012CLEARWATER, Fla.–Philadelphia Phillies RHP Roy “Doc” Halladay (right latissimus dorsi) went three
innings allowing an unearned run on three hits while striking out four in his first rehab start of his major league career. This being Halladay’s sixth trip on the DL during his career he last pitched on May 27, 2012 going just two innings against the Cardinals. The 35-year old threw 61-pitches, 43 for strikes before finishing his outing with 12-pitches in the bullpen. In 2012 Halladay is 4-5 with a 3.98 ERA and is expected to next throw against the Dodgers on July 17. Like with Chase Utley and Ryan Howard the Phillies staff did not have Halladay available to be interviewed either before during or after his appearance by the assembled media.
Laynce Nix started out his night at the dish by singling to right.
