By Eddie Michels on April 13, 2021DUNEDIN, Fla.–Former Blue Jays security guard Michael Hanley (pictured) was fired by Blue Jays security staff Monday night April 12th after crossing the street (Douglas Ave.) in Dunedin from TD Ballpark and threatening residents. Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriffs office tried on numerous occasions to calm Hanley down but he kept his actions up. “He came over here (across the street from the players entrance to TD Ballpark) and threatened us but I threatened him back and he left,”said Victor Rogers who along with his wife were both threatened by Hanley. The Rogers also stated that another Blue Jays employee tried to stop Hanley but was unsuccessful. According to the Rogers’ they called law enforcement but the Blue Jays staff had already gotten him away. Previously Hanley had been treating others in the area. At Tuesday’s game vs the Yankees the Blue Jays had their contracted security guards at the post.
