Litsch Pitches 5+ Shutout Innings vs. Minnesota

DUNEDIN, FL. (RSEN) –Pinellas Park native and right-hander Jesse Litsch twirled 5 1/3 innings of shutout ball as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Minnesota Twins 3-0 in Grapefruit League play.

     Litsch, who got the win, only allowed three hits and struck out seven, at one point four in a row.

     “I was throwing my curve and change up for first pitch strikes,” said Litsch afterwards.

     Travis Snider added insurance for the Blue Jays with a two-run homer in the bottom of the eight, it was his first of the spring.

     With the Jays off on Monday RHP Kyle Drabek is scheduled to throw six innings at the team’s minor league complex against the Yankees Triple-A squad.

     2B Aaron Hill (right quad) is still on schedule to make his first spring appearence on Tuesday against the Phillies in Dunedin.

     Hill has been playing in minor league games at the complex.

     Despite a lead off walk in the top of the ninth John Rauch retired the next three batters to record the save.
