Stumpf and Smoral in Extended Spring
By Eddie Michels on May 14, 2016The Phillies Daniel Stumpf (above), on suspension for performance enhancing drugs since April 14th threw two no hit innings in an extended spring game against the Blue Jays at the Carpenter Complex. Stumpf struck out four, got a ground out and the one batter he walked he picked off first.
Former first round pick (2012) Matt Smoral struggled with his control on Saturday against a Phillies extended squad. With a 92 MPH fastball Smoral faced six hitters walking five and getting one strike out and allowing three runs on 30-pitches.
