2012 Threshers Schedule Released! 
 
The Clearwater Threshers are excited to announce that the 2012 season has been finalized and released. The upcoming season will be similar to the 2011 schedule.
 
Opening day will be on April 5th at Dunedin with the Threshers home opener on April 6th at 6:30 p.m.
 
The weekly promotion schedule that fans have come to expect will remain unchanged from 2011. A specialized promotion list will be released at a later date.
 
Bright House Field will also once again host the Big East Tournament featuring the best baseball teams in the NCAA. This series will be held from May 23 – 27.
 
The season will wrap up slightly earlier in 2012 with the last home game slated for Saturday, September 1.

Darin Ruf Recognized for Outstanding Hitting  
 
Threshers first baseman Darin Ruf was recognized for the month of July for having an outstanding hitting record. He was awarded the Splendid Splinter Outstanding Hitter of the Month award on Tuesday night at Bright house Field.
 
The right-handed batter from Omaha, Nebraska has a batting average of .314 with 114 at bats.  
 
Ruf has recorded fifty-five runs on the season and a team high 15 home runs. Ruf is also currently holding the 2011 team record with 36 doubles and 72 RBI.   
 
 
 
Used Car Giveaway August 26
 

The Clearwater Threshers are excited to announce that the Used Car Giveaway promotion will be returning on Friday, August 26.

 
This year a 2010 silver Nissan Versa hatchback will be the featured used car. This car is the “newest” used car that has ever been given away at Bright House Field.
 
 
Each person is allowed one entry and the winner will be chosen at the end of the game.
 
 
Friday’s game will also feature a catcher’s mask piggy bank giveaway sponsored by Old Harbor Bank. The first 1,000 guests to enter the park will receive a bank.
 
 
The Threshers will take on the Lakeland Flying Tigers with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. and first pitch slated for 6:30 p.m.
 

  

Latino Night at Bright House Field 
 
The Threshers will be hosting the inaugural Latino Night sponsored by Fifth Third Bank at Bright House Field on August 27. The Clearwater Threshers will take on the Lakeland Flying Tigers with first pitch slated for 6:30 p.m.
 
There will be various festivities throughout the night including Latin dancers dressed in authentic Mexican costumes as well as restaurant vendors serving a range of Spanish foods on the concourse. 
 
The night  will conclude with a brilliant fireworks show sponsored by Yuengling and a post-game concert featuring Pedro Jesus.
