Debut for BC Native Atkinison
By Eddie Michels on October 5, 2014DUNEDIN, FLA.–Surrey, BC native Justin Atkinson made his catching pro debut for the Instructional League Blue Jays against the Phillies at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium on Friday October 3, 2014, Atkinson caught four innings handling two different pitchers. “He looks like he knows what he is doing,” said Vancouver Canadians pitching coach Jeff Ware, “He handled the pitchers well.”

Toronto Blue Jays great Carlos Delgado made his professional coaching debut when he positioned himself in the first base coaching box for Fridays Instructional League game against the Phillies. Delgado was there for all 10-innings of the game at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium and appeared to become more accustom to his surroundings as the game progressed. Delgado might have made his debut on Wednesday but there was no 7 3/4 helmet available. (EDDIE MICHELS/PHOTO)
