Hoffman Pro Debut getting Close
By Eddie Michels on May 14, 2015It was one year ago Thursday that RHP Jeff Hoffman (ABOVE AND LEFT) Toronto’s first pick (9th overall) in last Junes draft went under the knife for Tommy John surgery. To celebrate the occasion Hoffman allowed one run on two hits over four innings in what could be his last extended spring training outing. He walked one and struck out three with the possibility of making his pro debut with Class-A Dunedin on Wednesday May 20 th.
Blue Jays prospect Clinton Hollon (Tommy John Surgery) is just two to three weeks behind Jeff Hoffman in
his return to real game action. Against a squad of Yankee’s extended spring players Hollon went two scoreless innings allowing just two hits, striking out one on 24-pitches. His fastball was a consistent 91-93 MPH with his slider at 82-84 MPH.
