By Eddie Michels on August 26, 2024Back on May 7, 2017 while playing for the Upper Class-A Dunedin Blue Jays now MLB record holder Danny Jansen homered twice in the same inning vs the Bradenton Marauders, tying a league record. In fact it appears that in no league at any level of professional baseball has any player ever hit more than two home runs in a single inning. Danny Jansen making a name for himself good, eh? [Original Story by Eddie Michels]
Dunedin Blue Jay prospect Dan Jansen had two homers on Sunday for the Class-A Dunedin Blue Jays against the Bradenton Marauders, both in the same inning. “I’ve never had two in one inning, it’s an incredible feeling,” said Jansen afterwards, “I don’t think I ever had two in one game maybe in high school.” As to hitting each homer of a different pitcher in the third inning Jansen said, “I wasn’t really thinking up there, I saw a good pitch, swung at it and got good wood on it.” Both homers went to left center traveling 380-390 feet. Jansen was 4-5 on the day with the two homers, three RBI and a walk missing the cycle by a triple. Jansen is now hitting .394 on the season for Dunedin.
