Jays Prospect Gurriel

By on April 20, 2017

Cuban prospect Lourdes Gurriel, shown here grounding into a double play in his first spring training at bat on February 25th against Braves at Disney World, doubled in his first pro at bat on Wednesday for Class-A Dunedin.  Out since March 12, 2017 when he jammed his thumb playing against the Rays, Gurriel’s double to center drove in Cavan Biggio, son of Hall of Famer Craig Biggio.  Gurriel, who signed a seven year,  $22-million contract with the Blue Jays is on the team’s 40-man roster.
