Olsen Throws Four Shutout Innings
By Eddie Michels on May 13, 2011DUNEDIN, Fl. (RSEN)–Pittsburgh Pirates left-hander Scott Olsen threw four shutout innings in an extended spring game on Tuesday against a Toronto Blue Jays squad.
Delayed by a hamstring injury during spring training Olsen allowed two hits while walking one and striking out five on 47-pitches.
“I feel like I am not too far away but you never know,” said Olsen, “I just go five days at a time.”
Signed last December 10 as a free agent by the Pirates Olsen has a career record of 37-49 with a 4.86 era with the Marlins and Nationals.
