Sidewalk Block

DUNEDIN, FLA.–As the gates were opening at TD Ballpark in Dunedin at 11:30 AM Thursday for the Pittsburgh Pirates vs Toronto Blue Jays spring training game fans access was blocked by a Pinellas County Sheriff operating a traffic light.  The intersection of Douglas and Beltrees in Dunedin is diagonally across the street from the ballpark and the vehicle was blocking fans coming from the downtown area of Dunedin.  Fans had to either walk in the street, cross Douglas before the intersection as they couldn’t walk on the sidewalk as a cable was stretched between sheriffs vehicle and the traffic lights signal box.  In the past deputies have just stood on the sidewalk next to the lights signal box and manually operate the traffic control device to assist the fans.
