Under 18 girls softball players get into the swing of the game at the Louis A. Vanech Complex in Dunedin before it’s ripped up to make baseball fields and parking for the Toronto Blue Jays,  The three softball fields at the Vanech are the last three in the city for slow pitch even though this tournament is for fast pitch teams.  It appears that this tournament has a number of teams from the southeast. The middle parking lot at the Vanech Complex was full on Thursday morning with softball players and pet owners excersing their dogs. The two dog parks behind the parked cars are rumored to be still there after the Toronto Blue Jays expand the City of Dunedin’s Englebert Complex. One dog owner was ask what he was going to do when baseballs come flying into the dog park when the complex is possibly expanded. His one word answer was, “Duck.”
