McGowan’s Strong Rehab Outting
By Eddie Michels on July 17, 2011DUNEDIN, Fl.–Toronto Blue Jays RHP Dustin McGowan’s (shoulder) fourth rehab with Class-A Dunedin was by far his best going 2 2/3 innings of shutout ball. McGowan only allowed one ball out of the infield, allowed one hit, one walk and struck out three on 42-pitches. “I wished I could have finished that last inning but I was getting close to the pitch count,” said McGowan, “It’s all I could ask for.” McGowan was upbeat about getting five ground ball outs, “If you get outs you want to get ground outs.” McGowan says he will pitch again for Dunedin in five days, at least three innings, 50-pitches.
