Utley plays Second, Howard Homers

CLEARWATER, Fla.–Phillies second baseman Chase Utley went 1-4 with a walk and played an inning at second for the Gulf Coast League Phillies against Williamsport of the New York Penn League.  Utley appeared to have no trouble running the bases or fielding at second.

Phillies 1B Ryan Howard (left achilles) went 3-4 with two homers and a double playing for Class-A Williamsport against the Phillies GCL squad Friday morning June 15, 2012.  Howard who did jog part way to first each time, batted second behind  Laynce Nix (calf) who went 1-2 with a homer and two walks.

The Gulf Coast League is the Florida League for rookies and is free to the public and imagine you might just see some non-rookies rehabbing!
